Apparently Luke needs new friends that don't consist of two chihuahuas named Benny and Max. The kid idolizes them. He laughs and giggles for them the most. He cries when they leave. The Lukester is even chewing shoes now, fuh cryin' out loud!
Breaking news: Just now our neighbor's dog barked for a minute straight and I didn't hear one obnoxious yap from the slumber party in the kennel. Looks like I better go check to see if Luke's friends are indeed still alive...

Okay, they're fine. I have this irrational fear they are going to suffocate in their blankets. Like SIDS for dogs, which wouldn't actually be SIDS. We could call is SDDS, but that doesn't have a nice ring to it. Perhaps IDDS? Instant Dog Death Syndrome. Anyway, apparently they are just really tired from enduring constant ear tugging and fur grabbing. They are willing to put up with almost anything if it means getting t-r-e-a-t-s.
What wouldn't those two do for treats?
I love that he's chewing on his shoe. At least he's looking adorable while doing it!

My daughter spends most of her day with just me and two dogs. I try hard to make sure she knows that she is in fact a person and not a dog. But she is more interested in their food and toys than any of her own!
