An Arizona New Year

Our mini vacation in Arizona over New Year's weekend brought us into 2013 in the best way with family and friends. Luke learned all the tricks of the trade from his cousins (including how to scale the stairs like a spider monkey), was nearly kissed to death by his Aunt Ginger, met his great-grandma Lynette for the first time and his future mission companion, Roko (the little rascal in the striped PJ's). Hold on to your baby girls, ladies. With Roko's flirtatious eyebrows and Luke's charming ways, we've some heart breakers on our hands.

As Matt and I talked about our trip on the drive home, we marveled at the fact that between great-grandma Lynette and Luke's lives they will have seen and witnessed over 160 years of the world and all the changes and innovations it includes. Isn't that incredible? Especially the events and technological advancements that have passed from her birth to now even. Wars, social change, inventions, economic rise and fall. The whole kit and caboodle of life, weaving its course through history day in and day out. We feel amply blessed to have shared such a special moment in time with Luke and family.
